Alan joined City Chartered Accountants Dixon Wilson & Co as an articled clerk, over 25 years ago, back in 1982. During his training contract, he was successful in obtaining first time passes in all his professional examinations.

Deciding to seek some big firm audit experience, Alan joined Arthur Young (now Ernst & Young) in 1986.

Alan spent the majority of his time at Arthur Young within the specialised support group assisting entertainment clients, predominately within the music industry.

With a view to settling down in local practice, in 1990, Alan joined the Chelmsford office of Fraser Russell, (now Baker Tilly) a smaller, but still Top 20 firm of Chartered Accountants.

Alan eventually decided to take the step of setting up his own practice and, in 1993, Alan Boddy & Co was born. Since 1993, Alan has continued to act for an ever-increasing client base. He is ably assisted by his professional support team below.

Max Shepherd A.C.C.A.

Max is a fully professionally qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He was admitted to membership in 2010.

He joined Alan Boddy & Co in 2005 and trained as an Accounting Technician, an initial qualification he obtained in 2007.

Max works on his own diverse client portfolio dealing with a very wide range of size of business and business type.

Max has his own special interest in the buy to let property industry.

Kim Sullivan M.A.A.T.

Kim joined Alan Boddy & Co in 2004 and qualified as a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2006.

Kim works on his own client portfolio generally preparing limited company accounts for small family businesses and I.T. professionals.

Kim is studying for further professional qualifications with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Shireen Nicholls M.A.A.T.

Shireen joined Alan Boddy & Co in 2007.

Shireen obtained her Accounting Technician qualification in 2009. She is currently studying for her full professional qualification with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Shireen works on her own client portfolio.

Emma Kerridge

Emma joined Alan Boddy & Co in 2010.

Emma is currently studying for her Accounting Technician qualification with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Emma is usually your first port of call at Alan Boddy & Co as she tends to handle the majority of incoming telephone calls.

Emma's current workload involves responsibility for the majority of company payroll and company secretarial matters.

Richard Castle

Richard runs our personal tax department and manages the personal tax affairs of all our clients.

Richard also deals with the preparation of accounts for subcontractors in the Construction Industry, and rental accounts for our clients’ with “Buy to Let” properties
